2026 Theme “Seeking Hozho”

Studies show that Indigenous men face unique health disparities. To address these issues our committee members work with local practitioners and licensed counselors to deliver valuable solutions:
Indigenous men experience higher rates of chronic diseases, mental health challenges, and substance abuse compared to the general population.
Objectives:
- Create a space for Indigenous men to connect, share experiences, and build a supportive system. This fosters a sense of belonging and encourages open dialogue about health concerns.
- Incorporate traditional healing practices and cultural values. Traditional practices can provide avenues of research into new therapies to address emerging health threats.
- Identify health preventions, early detection, and treatment options. This empowers men to take control of their health and make confident decisions.
- Support funding, resources, and culturally competent care for Indigenous communities.
